Breath Taking Job of Meralco’s Lineman to Remove the Kite Tangled in Wire
PHOTO – A breath-taking work of Meralco’s lineman who bravely crossed power cables to remove the tangled kite goes viral online.
The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has previously announced that one of the causes of brownout today in the Philippines are kites being tangled in wirings. According to a statement by Meralco, about two million households were experiencing brownout caused by the kites.
As such, Meralco also pleaded the public to avoid flying kites in areas with crowded cable wires to prevent power supply delays especially if the outages were affected.
But despite Meralco’s public plea, many Filipinos remain hostile and continue to fly the kite. In this case, Meralco would have done nothing without repairing the damaged pole and line and restoring the power supply.
In a Facebook post of a netizen named Ghala Era, a photo of a lineman can be seen removing the kite tangled with the power cord. According to Era, the kite tangled on the wire was immediately removed by the lineman.
In the photo, the lineman bravely crossed the power cable, where uses a wire as his harness to get into the center where the kit was tangled. The lineman removes the kite as it can cause fire especially when it’s raining.
The Facebook post has gone viral on social media as many were pitied by the lineman’s situation. The photos have reached over 5k reactions and 13k shares as of writing.
