Gerald has been living on the sidewalk of Dan P. del Rosario, San Antonio after the cafeteria where he works as cook shut down since the ECQ was implemented.

According to the report of Sunstar, he lives with the help of some residents of Barangay San Antonio. San Antonio Barangay Captain Jojo Abcede said Sunday afternoon that the village councilors have been working to bring Gerald to Barangay Catarman. It was after they learned that Gerald had a son in Barangay Catarman.

But unfortunately, when they arrived, Gerald’s son couldn’t accept him because he came from Cebu City. Abcede said that they convince the son to accept his dad because if not, his father will be scattered along the street sleeping on sidewalks.

Later on, the son understands the situation and finally accept his dad, Abcede added. Gerald said, morning after he had slept with his son, he was surprised that there were people outside.

According to Gerald’s investigation, they were personnel in the barangay hall of Catarman. They wanted to take him back to Barangay San Antonio, where he came from, based on the report.

When he was searched for a barangay pass, which he didn’t have because he was only sleeping in the street. Barangay San Antonio has no choice but to welcome Gerald back.

Liloan, Catarman Barangay Captain Jimmy Maglasang, said he had no problem in accepting Gerald but they need to observe the proper process of people who want to enter their barangay that came from the Cebu CIty

Maglasang added that their mayor is admonished not to accept anyone especially from Cebu City if they do not follow the protocols. People from Cebu City would have to be undergo to a 14-day quarantine. Would also have taken Covid test as well.
