Netizens asked Kris Aquino about ABS-CBN franchise renewal case during her brother’s presidency.
KRIS AQUINO – Former Kapamilya actress Kris Aquino asked over ABS-CBN franchise not renewed during her brother Noynoy Aquino’s presidency.
The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) issued a cease and desist order (CDO) versus ABS-CBN network last May 5 which ultimately stopped the media network from airing and broadcasting that same day. Many people got saddened and maddened over the decision which was made amid a public health crisis.
Kapamilya celebrities and several Kapuso stars reacted to this and expressed disagreement as the NTC had ABS-CBN shut down when people need reports from a reliable source and for taking away a source of their entertainment as well. Also, 11,000 employees of the company have lost their jobs.
One of the issues that have transpired, meanwhile, is that the network’s renewal case under the Aquino administration has not been granted. With this, one netizen has asked Kris Aquino as to the reason why behind this. Former president Noynoy Aquino is her brother.
“Factually” and “politely” in her capability, she replied that she is not in the position to answer this. For the reason that, first, she is not a member of the NTC, an elected member of the congress, and a part of DOTC then. Also, she recalled that at that time, she is no longer an artist of the Kapamilya network.
Moreover, she can’t say anything because she doesn’t want people to interpret what she has to say. Accordingly, the commenter can just air his sentiment on social media or he can also directly message the former president. She added, “After all, hindi nya ko spokesperson.”
