82-year-old Vegetable Peddler Becomes Emotional While Receiving Help
MABALACAT, PAMPANGA – a poor 82-year-old vegetable peddler becomes emotional after she received some help from generous police.
In video uploaded by Pabatid, Lola Consulacion is seen crying with another elderly woman at back of her because instead of arrest for violating enhanced community quarantine guidelines she was helped by police who caught her.
According to the video, Lola Consulacion is a vendor of camachile and malungay, she peddles her produce as their source of living but because of the enhanced community quarantine in their area she has difficulties in selling.
But fearing that she might be caught at the quarantine checkpoint by police and soldiers, she crosses the river despite it’s very dangerous. But despite this sneaking, police still noticed her. However, instead of being arrested, their mercy prevails in the old woman.
So the police decided to visit lola Consulacion to bring help for her and her family so that she would not go out for selling. The old woman became emotional with the unexpected help she had received from the people he had avoided and thought of catching her.
She only does this because her family has nothing to eat amid the public health crisis. Lola Consulacion is grateful for the concern of these kind law enforcers especially during this COVID-19 crisis.
