Guimaras Province Still Free From COVID-19, Says Official
GUIMARAS – The island province of Guimaras remains free from the disease due to practice of early measures and anticipation of COVID-19 risks.
Provincial governor Samuel Gumarin said that anticipation is vital since you could formulate early steps to prevent the virus from spreading adding that viral infection has the capacity to be explosive.
“Anticipation is very important dahil kung ma-a-anticipate mo kung ano ‘yung magiging kalaban mo, you could make some sort of paunang steps so kung ikumpara natin ‘yung parasitic infection, bacterial, at saka viral infection, ‘yung viral infection has the capacity to be explosive,”
“Ibig sabihin, kung magkaroon ng carrier sa isang probinsya, sa isang bahay, lahat ng nasa bahay ay magkakaroon kung sakali…”
The government of the island province already restricted the entry of individuals from the National Capital Region as early as January 31.
“So eventually, the succeeding executive order, pinaigting po namin ‘yung border control…”
“Naunahan namin ‘yung COVID upon learning that the source is a virus… we prepared ourselves for this,”
As per the report, Guimarin said that at around six seafarers will arrive in the province by Saturday, adding that they will immediately be isolated in a quarantine facility.
