Landlady Forced Poor Woman to Leave House Due to Unpaid Rent Goes Viral

CALOOCAN CITY – video footage of a poor woman begging in tears after the landlady of the house she rented forced her to leave amidst public health crisis.

In a video shared by a Facebook page named YFM Blog, a woman who’s in tears begging for barangay officials to stay after her landlady was forcing her to leave the rented house amidst the threat of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) due to unpaid rent.

According to the post, Jodelyn Parco, the woman carrying an infant child in the video aguing with barangay authorities in tears over rent. They were forced to leave of their rented house for not paying over a month’s rent due to loss of job because of the health crisis.

The post added that barangay officials shouted and tried to handcuff her, they even locked the rented house of Parco forcing her to find another house at other barangay. Parco is a breastfeeding mother is vulnerable to the virus due to being evicted during enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

This is contrary to the order of the President, Rodrigo Duterte, that no tenants will get evicted during the ECQ and landlords or landlady would not charge tenants amid health crisis. President Duterte also warned apartment owners to face charges if they forced to evict tenants.
