In a Facebook post of Jirehn Eluzo Prasetiyo, shows a group of habal-habal riders, Igbaras Iloilo Riders, with their adventure to the top of Mt. Napulak. She said this is “first time” that a motorcycle climbs at Mt Napulak and this was done by their group.

“First Time nga may nag saka motor sa MT. NAPULAK … Sitio Buyu.an Brgy. Tigbanaba Igbaras Iloilo Riders!” said on her Facebook post.

However, their adventure earns criticism from social media as they have violated the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) guidelines. The photo shows that they are not observing social distancing and have no facemask.

Also, they have defied the town’s executive order banning access to the tourism site due to ECQ because of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. In addition, they also violated the DOH and IATF “stay at home” policy to prevent the spread and contracting the virus.

According to the report of RMN Iloilo, the initial information has already reached to the local government unit (LGU) and the Municipal Tourism Office. It also found out that the temporary suspension of eco-tourism destinations in the town has started on March 16, 2020, by EO of Mayor Jaime Esmeralda.

Meanwhile, the Facebook post of the group has gone viral as they garnered various reactions from the netizens mostly criticisms. The group received backlash for their happy adventure, yet inappropriate and dangerous.
