MISS PHILIPPINES EARTH 2020 – The candidates for this year’s Miss Philippines Earth will wear face masks during the preliminary round.
Carousel Productions’ Miss Earth Philippines is on its 20th edition for this year. And the previous winner Janelle Lazo Tee from Pasig City will crown her successor this year and who will represent the country in the international stage.
And for this year preliminaries amid the country’s battle versus the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the candidates are set to wear face mask. Wearing of this is one safety measure for the candidates to be safe and prevent the spread of the virus. The decision has been made after a board meeting with officials of Carousel Productions, organizer of the annual Miss Philippines-Earth, and Miss Earth pageants.
But that was just for the preliminary round as there have been no order yet if they will also wear masks during the coronation night which will be in next month which the final date is to be announced soon. Tentatively, according to Executive Vice President of Carousel Productions Lorraine Schuck, the pageant will be presented through virtual reality on May 24.
“We are now preparing for a virtual presentation of MPE 2020 that will be aired on ABS CBN and in our social media account. Our tentative date is May 24, 2020,” she said as per Manila Bulletin.
This beauty pageant is held annually where beautiful girls are gathered together from different parts of the country. They are in search for a woman who is of beauty, brains, and environmentally-conscious.
