Previously, the delivery man Raymond Papellero went viral on social media for buying hundreds of pieces of bread to give away to homeless people that he encounters during delivery trips.

He’s the guy who’s been saving the tips he receives from work so he could buy bread and give away to less fortunate people he encounters on the street amid the public health crisis.

Meanwhile, after he got viral on social media, the company where he works gives him a reward. According to GMA News, ‘Pizza Hut’ awarded him a cheque amounting to P10,000.00 in recognition for his good deeds.

The generous rider shared how surprised he is with the attention and recognition. He said, “I just really wanted to help in my own little way. When I read what they say, sometimes I get teary-eyed.”

Raymond, who is a father of three and living with his wife in Mandaluyong City shared they are also struggling amid the continuing health crisis but it is not stopping him to care for others.

“My wife is unemployed and also pregnant. With the money I make every day, I set aside some to buy bread to give away to those who need food. Sometimes the tips from customers are good, so I buy more,” he said.

Raymond added that he couldn’t help but feel bad for those who have no means to find food to feed for their families amid the crisis. Aside from giving them food, he also prays for them too.

He said, “Who I want to really help are those who have no means to feed themselves, especially during this time when there’s almost no one on the streets, so begging for alms is even more difficult. I pray that with the few pieces of bread I’m giving to these people, I am helping them to go on not feeling hungry, even for just a few hours.”
