Pampanga Government To Implement Mandatory Wearing Of Face Masks
PAMPANGA – The provincial government of Pampanga is set to issue an executive order which makes the wearing of face masks in public places mandatory.
Based on an article from ABS-CBN News, provincial board member Jun Carlas said that violators would face a fine of ₱25,000 or imprisonment of about 6 months to 1 year.
Canlas further urged residents to improvise their own face masks or facial gear especially during at this time where supplies of the said masks are limited.
Despite the implemented enhanced community quarantine in Luzon and lockdown in the province, the cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is still rising, with 37 confirmed cases in the province.
Despite the strict implementation, there are several people who kept on violating the ECQ protocol.
As per the report, provincial director of the police provincial office Police Colonel Jean Fajardo reported that there are about 4,643 people caught and taken to holding areas for violating the curfew, liquor ban, and evading control points. There are about 358 individuals arrested and charged, the police added.
