The statement was from Police Colonel Josefino Ligan, chief of the local city police force (CCPO), according to Inquirer.

The social distancing measure was among the guidelines implemented to prevent the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Ligan said that they will now arrest and charged the violators since they keep on violating the ECQ protocol for weeks despite being warned from authorities.

“Dakpon gyud na sila, dayun kasohan. Kay kung sige lang ta og pahimangno, pila nata ka semana gapahimangno naa gihapon,”

Those arrested will be filed charges for violating the guidelines of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

As per the report, appropriate social distancing would mean that the individuals should be at about a meter apart from each other.

The CCPO chief further reiterated that the ECQ is still in effect over the city and urged them to stay at home to avoid getting infected with COVID-19.

Ligan lastly told them that they will just add more issues should they continue to violate.

“Naa natay gi atubang nga problema, dugangan pa og problema ninyo,”
