Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson Favors the Extension of Quarantine in the Province

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio “Bong” Lacson is set to extend the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the province.

Currently, the Philippines is on the fight against the spread of COVID-19, a pandemic that caused the locking down of several nations to contain its rapid spread. It was first recorded in Wuhan City in the province of Hubei, China.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), there is now a total of 3,764 COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country after a recent addition of 104. The death toll is at 177.

Recently, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed the extension of the enhanced community quarantine in the entire Luzon. Supposedly, the ECQ is on its last week now but due to the increasing cases, it was further extended until April 30.

Several provinces in Visayas and Mindanao also implement an enhanced community quarantine. The Negros Occidental province is one of those which also declared an ECQ.

The ECQ in Negros Occidental is also set to end this week. The people are curious as to whether it would be extended or lifted.

Based on a recent post of Bombo Radyo Bacolod, Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson is set to extend the enhanced community quarantine in the province. Reportedly, the Governor will sign an executive order extending the ECQ until April 30, 2020.
