A post of a Filipina teacher in South Korea featured the “comfort package”
A Filipina teacher in South Korea shared the “comfort package” she received from the local government in the said country amid the COVID-19 crisis.
Liezel Joy Abaño shared that when she went back to South Korea from the Philippines last April 1, the local health center called her to check her condition. She was also informed about her “Self Diagnosis App to track me everyday and my 14days isolation instructions as well.”

“I got my Covid-19 test result yesterday and it was negative. After 30mins of call the doorbell rang and I got this in my front door,” a portion of her Facebook stated. Abaño shared photos of the “comfort package” that she received from the government of South Korea.
Aside from the goodies and medical staff that she received, the Filipina teacher also received a “love letter”. Because of this, Abaño expressed gratitude. “Thank you so much Korea for taking care of your citizens and even to foreigners. Special thanks to Ulsan Government and to all those who are working so hard this time! Sogohaessoyo! Kamsahamnida!” she said in her post.
Talking to PEP through Messenger, the Pinay English teacher shared that she has been working in South Korea for five years now, specifically in Ulsan, the fifth biggest city in the country. She is from Liloan, in the province of Cebu.

Abaño shared that what she received is called the “Korea Comfort Package” and everyone arriving from overseas receives this, including foreigners. “Wala silang pili. Lahat ng medical supplies, test kits, freeeee. Hatid pa kami sa bahay limousine bus for free,” she added.
When asked how much is the estimated price of the package she received, the Filipina teacher said that it cost about P12,000.
