The statement was made by Department of Social Welfare and Development 7 assistant director Shalaine Marie Lucero, according to SunStar.

Lucero added that they can identify the people who must be given should they follow guidelines, regardless of the person’s political affiliation.

Under Republic Act No. 11469, also known as Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, the social amelioration program aims to contain the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). The distribution is subject to the level of need of the beneficiary.

Those classified under the informal economy sectors, as well as 4Ps member households and Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT)-Listahan members, are entitled to receive cash aid of about ₱6,000.

Among the informal economy sector members include the following:

  • pedicab, tricycle
  • habal-habal drivers
  • farmers
  • fishermen
  • small sari-sari store owners that have already ceased operations; unemployed construction workers due to effects of COVID-19
  • vulnerable sectors such as solo parents, pregnant and lactating women, indigenous people, persons with disability (PWDs), senior citizens
  • homeless

Lucero reminded barangay officials and the LGUs that the count per beneficiary is by household, adding that they might want to use the existing database to fasten identification process.

As per the report, the department deputized local government units to reproduce social amelioration cards which will be utilized in profiling the said people.

LGUs are tasked to only reproduce enough cards based on their allocation, since these cards are bar coded uniquely.

The validation period will take at about three to five days depending on the number of beneficiaries.
