Iza Calzado has this statement after she’s recovered from the COVID-19
Kapamilya actress Iza Calzado clarifies her controversial remark about COVID-19 after she has recovered from the virus.
Two weeks ago, the COVID-19 test result of the actress was released and she was positive but prior to that, she was hospitalized due to pneumonia. Following that confirmation, Iza’s previous remark about the coronavirus outbreak surfaced which did not sit well with many netizens.
Reportedly, the actress said, “The covid situation is actually the Universe’s way of making the world a better place moving forward.” Netizens appeared to be throwing back these words to her when she tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease 2019.
On the other hand, amid the health crisis, the actress received support and prayers from people who wished for her fast recovery. Last March 30, she already tested negative for the virus.
With that, Iza Calzado expressed happiness and gratitude. However, her recent Instagram post also tackled about her past controversial statement about the COVID-19.
“When I started getting sick, I made a comment on an IG post that was totally misconstrued. I understand how and why that happened and I am sorry if anyone was offended and felt bad about it,” she said.
She also stressed out that it was never her intention to “say anything to hurt others nor celebrate anyone else’s suffering.” For the actress, positivity is a vital thing for her but she is sorry that people “missed [her] heart but [she] also understand your sentiments.”
After that clarification, Iza Calzado showed appreciation to those who sent positive messages to her as well as to the doctor who took care of her health. “Together, we can overcome all of this. Mabuhay!” the actress said.
