Another fake news from Mocha Uson surfaces and she promptly apologized over mistake.
MOCHA USON – Controversial personality Mocha Uson strikes agains claiming that PPEs frolm SM Foundation were from the Department of Health (DOH).
The current appointed Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) deputy administrator and known as an avid supporter of the current administration Mocha Uson strike again. This is after she posted Department of Health’s (DOH) newly-purchased personal protective equipment (PPE) for the country’s frontline workers but entailed it with the photo of those that were donated by the SM Foundation.
Netizens have them called out the apparent “fake news” and Uson’s Facebook page promptly edited the post and apologized as they admitted the mistake. Former Solicitor General Florin “Pilo” Hilbay also joined those who called out the controversial personality with a post which the caption indicated, “The Bayanihan Act dangerously criminalizes fake news. O sige nga… #ArrestMochaNOW”
On her statement where she apologized, the OWWA deputy administrator also thanked those who called her out and corrected her mistake. Meanwhile, this is not the first time that Uson has committed such mistake.
On the other hand, the Bayanihan Law which Hilbay cited was passed just last March 24 and it’s section 6 (f) stated: “Individuals or groups creating, perpetrating, or spreading false information regarding the COVID-19 crisis on social media and other platforms, such information having no valid of beneficial effect on the population, and are clearly geared to promote chaos, panic, anarchy, fear, or confusion; and those participating in cyber incidents that make us or take advantage of the current crisis situation to prey on the public through scams, phishing, fraudulent emails, or other similar acts.”
