83-Year-Old Woman Is Now Oldest Pinay To Beat Coronavirus
CORONAVIRUS – An 83-year-old woman from Santa Rosa, Laguna is now the oldest Filipina to beat the 2019 novel coronavirus.
Health officials said an elderly adult and people who have pre-existing conditions have a greater risk of severe illness from 2019 novel coronavirus. They also reported that young people and children are now vulnerable to the disease.
The deadly virus is spreading rapidly around the world and the number of COVID-19 infected patients is increasing daily.
In a previous article, a video of a coronavirus patient leaving a hospital went viral on social media. The healthcare workers gave her warm applause after she successfully recovered from COVID-19 disease.
Another elderly woman made rounds on social media after she became the oldest patient who recovered from the disease. Based on a report from GMA News, the 83-year-old woman from Santa Rosa, Laguna gave a message of hope for coronavirus patients.
“Wag po nila isipin na mawawalan na sila ng pag-asa dahil po ang Diyos ay hindi natutulog…Ako po ay nagdiwang sa loob ng aking kuwarto. Hindi ko alam kung ako ba ay sasayaw o hindi,” she said.
According to the report, the elderly woman also expressed her gratitude to the healthcare workers who are risking their lives to save coronavirus patients. “’Wag po kayong magsawang tumulong. Kayo po ang aming gabay. Kayo po ang mag-aalaga sa amin,” the woman said.
