Shopee Donates PPEs, Test Kits to Various Hospitals in Luzon
E-commerce platform Shopee donates thousands of personal protective equipments and test kits to hospitals in hospitals in Luzon.
Senator Christoper Bong Go thanked the e-commerce platform Shopee for donating 100,000 surgical masks and 3,000 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) test kits approved by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to public hospitals in Luzon.
Base on the report of GMA News, the said donations were distributed to over 40 hospitals across Luzon including public and private hospitals from Quezon City, Makati, Pasig, Rizal, and Batangas who’s running out of PPEs and test kits, Shopee said on Tuesday.
“It is important for us to tide through this fight against the COVID-19 outbreak as one community. Our medical front liners and hospitals in the Philippines are working around the clock to contain the outbreak and we applaud them for their hard work and dedication,” said Martin Yu, associate director of Shopee Philippines.
Associate director added that “We are committed to doing what we can to support these medical front liners, the government, and the wider community during this period.”
Meanwhile, Senator Bong Go commended the generosity of the e-commerce platform amid the pandemic crisis Filipinos facing these days.
“We laud Shopee for their generous donation and for stepping up their social responsibility efforts to help fight COVID-19. Shopee, as an e-commerce platform, helps support our government’s efforts to promote social distancing by ensuring that consumers can get their goods safely and conveniently straight to their own homes,” the senator said.
