Lady Netizen Arrested for Disrespecting a Frontliner
A lady netizen got arrested by authorities after she disrespects and badmouthing at a frontliner soldier online for not letting her pass.
While the government encourages the majority of the people to stay indoors to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and due to ongoing enhanced community quarantine, there are Filipinos who still need to work and serve their country.
Frontliners such as health care workers who fight against the dreadful virus, Policemen and soldiers who are manning border checkpoint and strictly implementing the policies amid ECQ and delivery personnel who are tasked to deliver goods and other important things.
Meanwhile, there are ungrateful residents who express hatred towards their strict implementation of said orders. On Facebook, a lady netizen named Jamellah Mamaril Duatin-Orzame has been criticized after posting disrespectful words at a frontliner soldier.
In the photos, she condemned a Police Staff Sergeant Rogelio Palad, Jr. y Baldonado, 33, manning a checkpoint for not letting her pass through. She curses, wishing the family of soldier including him will be infected with coronavirus.
The victim received a message from friends and family about the suspect posting about his identity as a Police Officer. As a result, the victim immediately went to their office and reported the incident promptly lowering the order to arrest the suspect.
In cooperation with the Moncada Municipal Police Station under the supervision of Chief of Police Major Milo Abriam at the San Manuel Municipal Police Station under the supervision of Chief of Police Captain Randie Niegos arrested the suspect in Barangay Salcedo, San Manuel, Tarlac, according to the report.
After being informed of the suspect’s constitutional rights, he was taken to the San Manuel Municipal Police Station and then taken to the Moncada Municipal Police Station for proper investigation, documentation and proper disposition.
The suspect is charged with violating Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority); Article 148 (Direct Assault against an Officer) and Cyber Libel are being prepared by police to be filed in court.
