Due To Coronavirus Pandemic, UAE Suspends Passenger And Transit Flights
CORONAVIRUS IN UAE – As a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) suspends all passenger and transit flights to and from UAE.
The coronavirus pandemic has affected almost all corners of the world. Nations have been placed into lockdown with millions being affected globally.
In the Middle East, Iran had been hit hardest by COVID-19. As such, many countries have closed their borders to the country.
Currently, The National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management and the Civil Aviation Authority decided to suspend all inbound and outbound transit flights in the UAE for two weeks.
This is part of their COVID-19 precautionary measures. Meanwhile, the decision would still be subject to re-assessment and would take effect in 48 hours.
As per the report, the CAA stated that cargo and emergency evacuation flights would be exempted from the order. Additionally, precautionary measures should be adopted as per the recommendation of the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
Additional examination and isolation arrangements will be taken later should flights resume in order to ensure the safety of passengers, air crews, and airport personnel and their protection from infection risks
Currently, the coronavirus pandemic has infected over 337,300 people worldwide. Furthermore, it has caused the deaths of 14,641 individuals. Furthermore, 98,627 have recovered from the virus.
Italy had now become the hardest-hit country by COVID-19. Over 2,600 frontline medical staff was infected with the coronavirus while treating patients. Moreover, doctors have died due to being forced to work without protective equipment due to shortages.
Meanwhile, the country had seen an increasing trend in the number of cases. Recently, health authorities from the country recorded 651 new deaths bringing the total to 5,476.
