Two Curfew Violators Nabbed In Tagbilaran City

TWO CURFEW VIOLATORS – Cops arrested the two curfew violators after they allegedly found illegal substances in their possession.

Currently, the Philippines is facing an increasing trend in the number of confirmed 2019 novel coronavirus or COVID-19 cases. The government imposed countermeasures to combat the spread of the deadly virus from Wuhan, China.

Among these measures were banning of student from loitering and travel bans. COVID-19 cases in the county soared to 202 with 17 deaths.

Amid the coronavirus threat, two curfew violators were arrested for drugs in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Based on a report from The Bohol Chronicles, the couple was caught violating the 8-hour curfew in the city.

The man and his girlfriend were arrested after the authorities allegedly found illegal substance in their possession.

According to the report, the cops were conducting a checkpoint at Sitio Ubos. The couple was traveling on a motorcycle from Tagbilaran City to Dauis town around 11 pm. They violated the 9 pm to 5 am curfew set by the LGUs.

The police said the driver Jack Aranzado, 31, appeared rattled when they asked him for his motorcycle’s registration and to check the content of his bag. The suspect later admitted that he was in possession of illegal drugs.

Aranzado allegedly hid the illegal drugs inside a purse that’s tucked in his underwear. Cops noted that the seized illegal substance weighed 4 grams and was estimated to be worth P27,200.

Based on the report, Aranzado and his girlfriend Daisy Anne Arocha will be charged for possession of illegal drugs and violating the curfew ordinance. They are currently detained at the Tagbilaran City Police Station.
