According to an article from Surging News, Grandpa Zhou, a 101-year-old man had previously tested positive for COVID-19. But, to the health workers’ surprise, he had recovered and was discharged.

Grandpa Zhou tested positive for the new coronavirus and was admitted on February 25. He was admitted to the Optics Valley Hospital of Wuhan City.

As per the report, Granpa Zhou was released yesterday. This was a surprise to many as the majority of the deaths due to the COVID-19 were elderly people.

Netizens from social media platforms were ecstatic to hear about the news. Here are some of their comments:

This man is the perfect role model for the elderly!

IF ZHOU CAN, YOU CAN!!

The man lived through the political chaos that was post-Qing China, the Chinese Civil War, the Second Sino Japanese War, Chinese Civil War again, the Great Leap Into the Ocean, the Cultural Revolution, and now this.

That’s crazy when you put it like that. Man survived some seriously harsh times

They are staring death in the face every day. And getting old is not for sissies. So yeah many really don’t care if they get taken by something like this.

He was an infant during the Spanish flu pandemic. Survived MERS and SARS, too. Big 👍🏼 to Granpa Zhou

He was birthed from the ashes of the Spanish flu a century ago…a super baby if you will

He saw the 98-year-old recover and just had to one-up them
