Authorities found a COVID-19 patient on the loose
A COVID-19 patient on the loose was found by authorities in a subdivision in Quezon City on Friday, March 20.
On Thursday, March 19, the local government of Quezon City reported that a patient who was tested positive of novel coronavirus disease 2019. QC Mayor Joy Belmonte said in a previous report from ABS-CBN that the said patient was checked at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center. Later on, it was found out that he is positive.
According to the record of the patient, he is living in Barangay Tandang Sora. However, when medical personnel checked his address the residents their denied that the patient resides there.
“Napakahalagang hanapin natin siya because now we have a positive patient on the loose and alam naman natin how dangerous this disease is and we really have to get him back into our custody,” Mayor Belmonte said.
Based on a recent report from DZMM Teleradyo, the patient on the loose was found in a subdivision in Brgy. Batasan Hills in Quezon City. QCNDRRMC head Mike Marasigan, the name of the subdivision where the patient is residing was not stated in his records.
When they traced the address, that led them to Tandang Sora and they headed first to the said address. Later on, medical personnel found out that the same name of the place is also located inside a subdivision in Batasan Hills.
Marasigan said that they already talked to the patient and his family is now under home quarantine. The patient also has a separate room. Authorities are also doing contract tracing. The house of the patient is now considered a “hot zone”, based on the report.
