According to Panay News, in order to achieve this, the provinces of Iloilo, Antique, Aklan, and Capiz decided to harmonize border restrictions they enacted separately starting March 16.

The island of Guimaras, which is near Panay, will also be included in the quarantine.

The island-wide quarantine, which will end until April 14 was agreed on Monday in an emergency meeting of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) headed by Director Jose Roberto Nuñez of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region 6.

The harmonized rules and regulations for the border restrictions will be released before April 1 (Wednesday).

The harmonization of rules seeks to ease the inconvenience the restrictions would bring on people, including those crossing provincial boarders due to work and business, among others.

Nuñez, however, stressed that people should still observe precautionary measures like social distancing, among others

Meanwhile, each provincial government would observe their imposed restrictions, which began yesterday until March 31.

This would hopefully be enough for PUMs in the provinces to have been cleare, says Nuñez.

As of the moment, since yesterday, the island, as well as the entire Western Visayas (Region 6) remained COVID-19 free, as reported by the Region 6 division of Department of Health.

Based on the report, as agreed that the people of Iloilo City and Guimaras should close its backdoor to ban the entry of people from negros Island.

Goods of supplies should move freely within the island and across Guimaras subject to quarantine inspections.
