LIST: PH Government Officials Under Quarantine For COVID-19 Risks

COVID-19 – Certain government officials announced that they will place themselves under self-quarantine for COVID-19 risk.

According to Rappler, it started on Wednesday evening (March 11), when senators Sherwin Gatchalian and Nancy Binay announced that they will self-quarantine.

This is after knowing that they attended a hearing at the chamber where a resource person was confirmed positive for Coronavirus disease 2019, a disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

Eventually before the evening ended, several other government officials said that they will also place themselves under quarantine. They noted instances that they were exposed to a potential infected person or their trips to places with known cases of transmission.

Lastly, the Malacañang Palace added that President Rodrigo Duterte would get tested and the Senate would be on lockdown.

As per the report, here are the following officials who will self-quarantine:

    • Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade
    • DoTR Assistant Secretary Goddes Libiran
    • Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar (begin March 12)
    • Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado (begin March 12)
    • Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea (begin March 12)
    • Education Secretary Leonor Briones (begin March 12)
  • Solon (begin March 12)
    • Senator Sherwin Gatchalian and staff
    • Senator Nancy Binay and staff
    • Davao City Distrct 3 Representative Sid Ungab
    • Senator Panfilo Lacson
    • Senator Sonny Angara
    • Senator Imee Marcos
    • Senate Minority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri
    • Senator Francis Tolentino
  • Local Officials
    • Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno (begin March 12)
    • Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte (begin March 12)
