Currently, the Philippines has confirmed 10 cases of the new coronavirus. Additionally, the DOH stated they have 700 patients under investigation.
Of that number, 48 had been admitted and 646 were discharged. Repatriates from China are also being monitored in New Clark with 34 being classified as Persons Under Investigation (PUI).
According to an article from Inquirer, tourist arrivals on Borocay Island had plunged. This was due to travel restrictions and fears of the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

Last month, the figure (103,834) was also much lower than last year’s number (172,695) and in 2018 (189,100). The largest drop among foreign tourists was from 98,301 in January to 40,346 last month.
In late January, direct flights from heavily affected areas such as China, Hong Kong, Macau, and South Korea were suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
As per the report, on March 4, 24 establishments, as well as 23 in Boracay and one in the capital town of Kalibo Aklan, have stopped operating.
