Argao Police Chief Ildefonso Miranda Caught Sleeping w/ Female Inmate: “My only mistake is falling in love”
The Argao Police Chief who was caught sleeping with a female inmate explained: “My only mistake is falling in love”.
Last Thursday (March 5, 2020), the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested Argao Police station chief Police Major Ildefonso Miranda after caught sleeping with a female inmate.
Miranda was caught sleeping with a lady detainee identified as Jean Claudia De Guzman, 23 inside his office at the municipal police station. The woman has been detained inside the cop chief’s office for already seven (7) months.
However, the authorities also found out that the Argao cop allows not only one but two lady detainees inside his air-conditioned room. The other inmate has been identified as Brenda Caminero, 40, who is also arrested for illegal drugs.
Recently, the investigation results show photos and videos of Miranda and De Guzman together outside the police station a couple of times. The two even reached Cebu, which is two hours away.
“The girl was even brought here in Cebu City, naga-date pa sila…a very breach of discipline to a police officer,” Police Regional Office-7 Director Albert Ignatius Ferro said.
Ferro also said that all policemen at the station will be dismissed from their posts if it is proven that they tolerated the act of the police chief.
However, Miranda explained that he is not ashamed of the incident stating that he did not commit any crimes. He said that his only mistake is falling in love with the inmate. “I am not ashamed because I did not commit a heinous crime. My only mistake is falling in love,” Miranda said in Cebuano.
