Argao Police Chief Allows Not Only 1 But 2 Female Inmates To Sleep Inside His Air-Conditioned Room
The Argao police chief allows not only one but two young female inmates to sleep inside his air-conditioned room.
Earlier, PhilNews reported that Police Major Ildefonso Miranda, chief of Argao Police has been arrested for sleeping with a lady inmate inside his room at the municipal police station. He was nabbed on Thursday evening (March 5).
Miranda has been arrested during the raid conducted by the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) after discovering that he is sleeping with a female drug suspect.
The 23-year-old lady inmate has been detained inside the office of the 46-year-old Cebu cop for already seven months.
On Friday (March 6, 2020), the authorities also discovered that Miranda is not only allowing one but two female detainees to stay and sleep inside his room. The other detainee was staying inside his office while the younger one is staying inside his quarter.
“The two female inmates are supposed to be locked up at the police jail, not sleeping in the room of the police station commander,” Police Colonel Ronald Lee, director of the PNP-IMEG said.
According to Lee, the two ladies were identified as Jean Claudia De Guzman, 23 and Brenda Cutillar, 40. The two were arrested during separate police operations.
The police authorities have confiscated the Miranda’s PNP-issued Glock 17 caliber 9MM semi-automatic pistol and his Pietro Beretta pistol with two loaded magazines.
Miranda would face charges of violation of Article 156 of the Revised Penal Code or the Delivery of Prisoners from Jail, violation of Republic Act No. 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, Direct Bribery.
