Just recently, Pasay City was hailed as ‘no. 7 in the 2018 overall regional and national ranking in terms of local revenue generation. The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) gave the recognition for Pasay City Treasurer’s Office for its efficiency in local collection.
Pasay City were ranked in the top 10 because of its pursuit for the three convergent pillars: economic programs, collection efficiency, and Economic resiliency. Economic Resiliency refers to the ability of the LGU to adapt and facilitate inclusive growth for its community.
In a memorandum dated February 6, 2020, Executive Director Niño Raymond B. Alvina of the Bureau of Local Government Finance/Department of Finance cited Pasay City Treasurer Dr. MANUEL E. LEYCANO for his exemplary performance in achieving rank No. 7 for at least 145 Cities Nationwide.
Pasay City Mayor Imelda G. Calixto-Rubiano was elated with the news.
The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) is the chosen award giving body of the Department of Finance (DOF) to cite outstanding and most competitive local government units in the country. The Cities and Municipalities efficient collection efforts is developed by its Local Treasury and through the effort of Pasay City Treasurer Dr. MANUEL E. LEYCANO.
This award may continuously drive the Pasay City Government, through the City Treasury Office, to sustain its revenue generation efforts towards better local governance and efficient public service.
