1 A.M – 2 A.M Considered as Deadliest Hour for Road Accidents
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) considered 1 a.m to 2 a.m. as the deadliest hour where most fatal road accidents in Metro Manila usually happen.
According to the report of GMA News, road accidents are said to be more dangerous every morning dawn; when there was almost no motorist on the road. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) says they often occur because of three P – tired, dizzy, and drunk driving.
It was learned from the Metro Manila Reporting and Analysis System’s accident tally that 121,771 accidents were recorded for the year 2019; higher compared to 116,906 last years.
Of the number of road accidents in 2019, 8,593 occurred between 1 a.m. at 5 a.m. They also recorded 33 road accidents from 1 a.m. until 2 a.m.
Between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. has the most reported deaths in a road crash maybe because motorists take advantage of the wider roads even though they are tired, sleepy, or under the influence of liquor while driving.
Road accident cases are larger in these areas where most accidents happen than other cities in the National Capital Region, according to the report. Based on the data of the Philippine National Police – Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG), around 90% of road accidents were due to human error.
