Hawaii on Search for People w/ Contact to Japanese Man Who Tested Positive for Coronavirus

JAPANESE MAN – A man from Japan who had visited Hawaii on the last week of January tested positive for novel coronavirus.

Several countries across the globe got confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus. Recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced its official name – the COVID-19.

The said viral disease started in Wuhan City in the province of Hubei in China. It is believed that the bat soup served in the market in the city has something to do with it. Yet, it was yet to be proven.

The novel coronavirus spread in China. More than 60,000 people were infected and at least 1,200 died because of it. Recently, the daily death toll never falls below a hundred.

Japanese Man

One of the countries that is affected by the outbreak of coronavirus in China is Japan. A cruise ship was even held under quarantine in a port in Japan after one (1) of its passengers who have already embarked the vessel tested positive for the disease.

Following it, several people also tested positive for coronavirus. They had to be fetched from the cruise ship and brought to local hospitals in Japan for the treatment and isolation.

Based on a report on GMA News, recently, a Japanese man tested positive for the novel coronavirus. It was also found out that the patient had a visit to Hawaii and it is in one of its island that he started to feel ill.

The possibilities that the man was either infected in Japan or during his way to Hawaii crossed the surface. It is based on the 14-day incubation period of the disease as, according to health officials, the patient started to show symptoms after less than 7 days in Hawaii.

Based on the report, the Japanese man who tested positive for coronavirus was with his wife to Hawaii from January 28 to February 7. They visited the island Maui and then Oahu. The officials revealed that it was in Oahu when the patient started to develop colds but he had no fever.

According to Dr. Bruce Anderson, he has already returned to Japan when he fell seriously ill. Amid it, the officials in Hawaii are now tracing the people he had a close contact with. More updates may be posted soon.
