Couple To Spend Valentine’s Day In Prison For Drug Charges
COUPLE – A couple will be spending their Valentine’s Day in jail following a drug bust in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City.
Lovers worldwide are currently getting ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Romantic men are planning a perfect date for their partner to melt their hearts and put a smile on their face.
Almost all of the establishments have their promo for all the couples or even for singles. In a previous article, Burger King gives free Whoopers to brokenhearted customers on Valentine’s Day. He/she just has to bring a photo of their ex for a free burger.
However, there are other couples who just don’t care about Valentine’s Day. Recently, there was a Filipino couple who will be spending the occasion in jail.
Based on a report from GMA News, the lovers were nabbed for their alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade. The authorities caught Jerome Declaro and Katrina Salvador in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City.
According to the report, the couple was nabbed in a buy-bust operation initiated by the Police Personnel in Batasan. They confiscated 13 grams of a suspected illegal substance with a street value of 90,000 pesos. The suspects said they were forced to sell illegal drugs in order to buy food.
“Pinapabenta lang po yan…pagkain pagkain lang po… sa umaga tanghali panghapunan pa iisa isangdaan ganyan,” said Declaro.
Based on the report, Katrina Salvador, meanwhile, said they don’t own all the illegal substances that were confiscated by the police. “Hindi po sa amin yan lahat,” she said. The couple was previously been convicted of the same crime.
