Jake Cuenca Defends Kapamilya Network ABS-CBN
The Kapamilya actor Jake Cuenca has defended the Kapamilya network saying ABS-CBN was there when he is nothing.
Over the past few days, ABS-CBN has been one of the most trending topics online after Solicitor General Jose Calida filed a quo warranto petition before the Supreme Court seeking to revoke the network’s franchise.
Calida wants to remove the Kapamilya network’s franchise over its alleged abuse and violation of the policy. The giant network’s franchise is set to expire on March 30, 2020, but it could still operate until the Congress reject to grant the extension.
Recently, Jake Cuenca was asked regarding his stand on the shutdown issue of his home network. He said that around 20,000 people who have been working for ABS-CBN for 15 to 20 years would lose their jobs.
The actor also explained that ABS-CBN didn’t violate the law and the issue should undergo the legal process. He also defended the giant media company and testified how the network helped him.
“ABS-CBN was there for me when I was nothing. First taping day ko I had 100 pesos in my pocket. Wala akong pang-gas papuntang taping and ABS-CBN has given me this life. So for me, I’m loyal with ABS-CBN,” the 32-year-old celebrity said.
