Anonymous Source Claims Jovie Espenido Included on Government’s Drug Watchlist

An anonymous source confirmed that Police Lieutenant Colonel Jovie Espenido was included on the government’s drug watch list.

A reliable source who refused to reveal his identity said that Colonel Jovie Espenido, who led the anti-illegal drug operation against the Parojinog family in 2017 was allegedly under the drug watch list of Duterte administration.

The informant revealed that the authorities will investigate Espenido and other police officers who were allegedly involved in illegal drug activities. The source also revealed that the police executive has been relieved from his post due to the accusations against him.

Last year, President Rodrigo Duterte assigned Espenido as the Bacolod City police deputy director and ordered him to cleanse the area, which is allegedly badly-hit by the illegal drug trade.

“Bacolod is badly hit now.  And I placed Espenido there, ‘yung kinatakutan nila na pulis. Sabi ko, ‘Go there and you are free to kill everybody.’ T— ina.  Start killing them.’ Dalawa na tayo magpapreso,” Duterte said.

Espenido rose to fame after leading the operation against the clan of Parojinog in Ozamiz City, which leads to the death of Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog. 15 other suspected drug personalities also got killed during the operation.
