DOH Releases Results of Test of 2 Pinoys Under Quarantine From Wuhan

PINOYS UNDER QUARANTINE FROM WUHAN – The results of the test of two (2) Filipinos from Wuhan City, China have been released.

Several Filipinos in the mainland China wanted to go home when the outbreak of the new coronavirus or COVID-19 started. Many Pinoys are working there and some have settled down in the foreign country.

The outbreak brought fears to a lot of people. Wuhan City, the epicenter of the disease, was even place on a mandatory lock-down as a move to curb the spread of the viral disease that targets the respiratory system.

More than 40,000 people in China were infected and the death toll has exceeded 1,000. Amid the outbreak, the Philippine government coordinated with the Chinese authorities for the repatriation of the Filipinos who wanted to go home to PH.

Test of 2 Pinoys Under Quarantine from Wuhan

Several facilities that will house the Filipinos from China for a 14-day quarantine period were prepared. One of them is the Athlete’s Village in Tarlac.

The 32 Filipinos from Wuhan City, the epicenter of the disease, was brought to the Athlete’s Village. Earlier, the Department of Health (DOH) revealed that two (2) Pinoys under quarantine from Wuhan showed a symptom of the new coronavirus.

The health department expressed that the two (2) Filipinos are suffering from diarrhea. It is one of the signs of nCoV aside from cough, fever, and breathing difficulties.

The DOH assured that the Filipinos were evaluated and checked by the medical staff. Recently, the results of the test of the two (2) Pinoys under quarantine from Wuhan were released.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Health Undersecretary Eric Domingo expressed that both Pinoys tested negative for the new coronavirus. One is a 34-year-old female while the other is a one (1)-year-old male.

Reportedly, the two (2) Filipinos were brought to a nearby hospital. They have no fever and are not coughing. Although they tested negative, they will still be brought back to the New Clark City for their quarantine period.
