Pinoy Crew Member Mysteriously Found Dead at Engine Room of Cruise Ship
A 54-year-old Pinoy crew member has been found dead at the engine room of a cruise ship Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas.
WNBC reported a Filipino crew member was found dead at the engine room of Royal Caribbean last Saturday (February 8, 2020). The law enforcement agents do not believe that the Pinoy seafarer died from the novel coronavirus.
The body of the unidentified Filipino worker will be kept refrigerated inside the ship before it will be sent to Newark for autopsy. The shipping line is already cooperating fully with the investigation.
The authorities also advised the Royal Caribbean that the crew’s death was non-suspicious. The ship also informed the authorities that the crew member did not report for work and was found dead in the engine room.
The Royal Carribean also said in a statement that they are treating their employee’s death with an abundance of caution. However, the shipping company was not yet giving further updates regarding the incident.
