Cebu City Gov’t Simulates Coronavirus Case Handling

CORONAVIRU S- Cebu City government has conducted a simulation exercise on how to handle a suspected case of coronavirus.

The 2019 novel coronavirus has affected several countries. The epicenter of the deadly virus is in Wuhan, China. The city of 11 million people is under lockdown. China’s government has agreed to allow American health experts to help combat the virus.

In the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed that they are probing eighty (80) patients for suspected infection of nCoV. Following a previous article, there now 6 nCoV cases in Tarlac.

Filipinos are panic-buying of face masks after the death of a 44-year-old Chinese man in the country. He was the first coronavirus death case outside China.

Malacañang Palace spokesperson Salvador Panelo encourages the face mask makers to produce more masks amid nCoV threat in the county. He also warned the public to stop hoarding and overpricing of the protective gear.

Recently, the Cebu City government conducted a simulation exercise on how to handle a suspected case of coronavirus. The video was uploaded on Cebu Daily News’ Facebook Page. It can be seen in the video that their quick response team wore protective suits while helping the patient.

DOH advised the public to frequently wash hands with soap and water, minimal contact with people, and covering of the mouth when sneezing or coughing.
