“Chinese Man” Who Collapsed In Manila Is Actually Drunk Korean National
CHINESE MAN – An alleged Chinese man who collapsed on a sidewalk in Manila on Saturday turned out to be a Korean national who was drunk.
Manila Police District Station 5 denounced early reports that a “foreign-looking” man collapsed in the sidewalk on Saturday because he was allegedly infected by nCoV (Novel Coronavirus).
According to Inquirer, reports from the station states that the person shown in photos and videos that circulated online is actually a Korean national who is 27 years of age in Parañaque and was drunk at that time.
Chief of Station 5 Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Caramoan said that the Korean national went to the station and told them that he was “surprised’ with online posts showing that he may have been infected by the virus.
“(He) disclosed that in the uploaded video, he was asleep due to drunkenness,”
As per the report, the post was uploaded on Saturday that the man was lying on the sidewalk on Taft Avenue at the corner of Remedios Street in Ermita.
The uploader of the post said that the man looked Chinese and was having seizure before getting up and staggered away an hour after.
The Manila Public Information Office further posted this report on their Facebook page. Here is the following post:
