Two Individuals Killed In Separate Shootings In Calabarzon Region

CALABARZON – Two individuals were killed in two separate shootings in the region of Calabarzon on Saturday (February 1).

According to PhilStar, the two shooting incidents occurred in the provinces Cavite and Batangas, and the fatalities were identified as Bernardo Briones, a construction worker, and Miguel Rodriguez, an electrician, respectively.

Briones was walking at Kanggahan Elementary School in Barangay Cabuco, Trece Martires, Cavite when the suspect approached Briones at around 4:50 PM.

Without provocation, the assailant, identified as Jay-Ar Salazar, was said to pull out a gun and shot Briones several times. Briones died on the spot sue to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

Police investigators recovered bullet shells of a .45 caliber pistol at the scene of the crime.

As per the report, on the other hand in the case of Miguel Rodriguez, aged 60 years, he was allegedly shot to death by his friend, identified as Arnold Andal, aged 39, in the municipality of San Jose, Batangas.

Investigations show that the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session in Barangay Lumil when they had a quarrel. Andal allegedly pulled out a gun and shot his friend several times before fleeing.
