According to a report from CNN, the outbreak already had 4,600 confirmed cases in mainland China. In addition, the virus has spread to more than 17 countries.

Authorities in Hubei stated that an additional 1,300 cases were confirmed. This sums up the number of cases in the province to 2,700.

Moreover, the majority of those infected are being treated in hospitals. However, more than 124 of those are in critical condition.

Recently, an epidemiologist from Harvard published his analysis regarding the Wuhan Virus. He stated that the spread of the virus could be more deadly than the Spanish Influenza.

Between Sunday and Monday, there had been a 65% jump in the number of confirmed cases from around 2,700 to over 4,500, further proving the epidemiologist’s study.

As per the report, cases of the Wuhan Virus have been confirmed in almost all provinces and territories in China except for Tibet.

Last week, Tibet announced the closure of all tourist attractions and a mandatory quarantine for all travelers entering their territory.

In addition, Hong Kong had also closed its border crossings with mainland China in an attempt to contain the virus. This decision stems from medical workers threatening a strike if borders weren’t shut.

Meanwhile, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) had issued a level 3 alert warning against all nonessential travel to China. This is the highest alert on the scale.
