The Philippines Suspends Direct Flights From Wuhan, China Amid Coronavirus Scare
PHILIPPINES – The aviation authorities in the Philippine are suspending direct flights from Wuhan, China amid coronavirus threat.
Lots of countries are taking precautionary measures following an outbreak of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus from Wuhan, China. There are hundreds of patients infected with the new virus and seventeen (17) confirmed deaths from the virus.
Following a previous article, transportation from Wuhan is temporarily stopped amid the coronavirus outbreak. The Chinese government decided to close the city in the meantime to halt the spread of the deadly virus.
In the Philippines, the Provincial Government of Bohol ramped up their precautionary measures following the emergence of suspected coronavirus in Cebu City. Acting governor Rene Relampagos said they have to do something while waiting for the guidelines from the Department of Health (DOH). The health authorities in Bohol have place thermal scanners at their seaports and airport.
Based on a report from GMA News, the Philippines is suspending all direct flights from Wuhan. The decision was made by the Department of Transportation, Department of Health Bureau of Quarantine, Civil Aeronautics Board, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, and certain airline companies to halt the spread of the coronavirus in the country.

According to the report, all the passengers are required to fill up a health declaration cards, while the staff of the airline was asked to observe the passengers who are showing symptoms.
The authorities asked airline companies to preserve the locator cards of their passengers. In a previous article, the DOH issued tips on how to avoid the deadly virus.
