Stalker In Tagalog: English-Tagalog Translations Of "Stalker"

Unfortunately, there isn’t an exact word that could describe what stalker is in Tagalog. That’s why we need to use synonymous phrases and base sentences depending on certain contexts.

Here are some examples:

  1. She realized that there was a stalker following her home.
  2. The lady called the police as the stalker tried to get near her.
  3. You should avoid people with tendencies of being a stalker.
  4. Though domesticated, cats still are excellent stalkers of their prey.
  5. There are a lot of stalkers in social media.

The sentences above could be translated in Tagalog as:

  2. Tumawag ng police ang babae matapos tumangkang lumapit ang sumusunod sa kanya.

  4. Kahit napa-amo na ang mga pusa, sila pa rin ay isa sa mga pinaka magaling na manghuhuli ng kanilang mga biktima.
  5. Maraming mga “stalker” social media.

If you noticed, sentences 3 and 5 both used the word stalker. That’s because there is no direct translation of the word in Tagalog. Sometimes, the context itself couldn’t be translated.

When that happens, it’s better to use the English word instead to avoid confusion as it is a commonly known word.

However, in the 1st and 2nd sentences, we used the phrase “may sumusunod” which translates to “somebody/something is following“. Also, in the 4th sentence, we used “manghuhuli” to describe a cat stalking their prey.

In summary, “stalker” translated in Tagalog could be any word or phrase that describes someone/something that is either following you, lurking, or hiding from you.

Here are some examples:

  • Nagtatago
  • Sinusundan
  • Sumusunod
  • Patagong tumitingin
