How To Avoid Deadly Coronavirus From China
CORONAVIRUS – The Department of Health (DOH) released tips on how to avoid deadly new Coronavirus that first emerged in China
On Monday, January 22, three (3) Chinese nationals were reportedly quarantined after arriving in Kalibo town, Aklan Province after showing symptoms of the coronavirus from China. The tourists were feverish and had difficulty in breathing when they arrived at the airport.
The Chinese tourists were later discharged and allowed to go to Boracay Island. Coronavirus or SARS-like virus from China are common among animals. The virus can be transmitted from animals to humans.
In a previous article, a 5-year-old boy who traveled to Cebu City from Wuhan, China is currently admitted to an undisclosed hospital. He has a fever, throat irritation, and cough when he arrived at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).
The young boy tested positive for coronavirus and his specimen was sent to Australia for tests said the Department of Health (DOH|).
“The samples tested positive for the non-specific pancoronavirus assay, thus the specimen has been sent to Australia to identify the specific coronavirus strain,” the DOH said in a statement.
The symptoms of the deadly coronavirus include upper-respiratory infection, coughing, sore throat, runny nose, and fever. DOH issued tips on how to protect yourself from the deadly virus:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water
- Avoid close contact with sick animals
- Avoid close contact with people who are showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing or sneezing.
- Cover your mouth and nose
- Drink enough water
- Make sure your food is well-cooked
- Immediately seek medical attention if you are experiencing symptoms
