Police Cadet Dies From Heatstroke In Davao City
POLICE CADET – A police cadet died after suffering from heatstroke during his training in Davao City.
People who join the military are required to be ready for the physical demands because they will be going through truly hard, soul-crushing, and brutal training. They are also requested to visit their doctors before they start training.
Doctors can give helpful information that may decrease the trainee’s chances of injury at the camp. In the Philippines, there have been lots of people who died during their training. Recently, a police cadet died during his training in Davao City.
Based on a report from Newsline, on Friday, Police Regional Office in Davao City said Patrolman Angelo Tito died a day after he fainted while doing his Basic Internal Security Operation Course (BISOC).
Brig Gen. Filmore Escobal, PRO-11 Director said the 24-year-old cop died on Friday, January 17, due to sinus tachycardia secondary to severe dehydration or heatstroke. He and his four (4) companions collapsed during a road run.
According to the report, Escobal identified other trainees who fainted during the BISOC training as Patrolmen Juvanny Saydaw, Fraxsidicio Florentino, Dexter Bucalig and Exel Busalla. He said all of them are in a stable condition after receiving treatment.
“Unfortunately, Patrolman Tito passed away due to the said findings,” he said.
Based on the report, Escobal said they will provide assistance to the five patrolmen. He also assured that they will look into possible lapses regarding the training program. The PRO-11 will also probe the incident to find out if there are errors on the part of the instructors.
“We condole with the family and loved ones of Pat Tito for his passing. Rest assured, financial assistance due to the bereaved family will be extended, and PRO-11 will conduct a fair investigation on his demise,” he added.
