Netizens Slam Gov’t Official for Setting Strenuous Requirements to Evacuees to Obtain Relief Goods
A certain government official sets strenuous requirements to the poor evacuees affected by Taal’s eruption just to obtain relief goods.
Thousands of residents along Batangas, Cavite, and Tagaytay have been affected by Taal Volcano’s unexpected eruption. Taal belches ash plumes, small stones, and other volcanic materials that cause damage to numerous properties in the affected areas.
The eruption also displaced thousands of residents who were forced to leave their houses and temporarily reside in evacuation centers. The evacuees only rely on relief goods distributed by local government units.
Recently, the Facebook page “Raffy Tulfo supporters have shared the video footage of evacuees queuing just to receive relief goods. The government official who is responsible for the distribution of goods sets strenuous requirements to evacuees.
In the video, it can be seen that the lady officer announced that only evacuees who have the original signatures from government officials could obtain relief goods. Those who no or photocopied signs could not receive goods.
However, some of the evacuees complained and expressed their disappointment with the strenuous requirements given by the official.
