TAAL VOLCANO – Lots of netizens praised the kind-hearted man who gave away free face masks amid Taal volcano ashfall.
The second most active volcano in the Philippines, Taal volcano erupted on Sunday, January 12, 2020. The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management (NDRRMC) has ordered the resident near the crater to evacuate.
Agoncillo town turned into “desert” after heavy ashfall showered the site. The rooftop of a condominium in Mandaluyong City was also covered with a thick layer of ashfall.
The flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport were also canceled due to the ashfall. Industrial experts advised the people to stop using their air conditioner because the ashfall could clog the outdoor condenser coil.
In a previous article, a netizen shared heartbreaking photos of a family evacuating. All of them including the baby were covered with volcanic ash. He urged his fellow netizens to offer some help to the affected residents.
Recently, a Facebook user named Karmela Dasig Ramos shared a photo of a kind-hearted man handing out free masks to people in the streets. The Department of Health (DOH) said exposure to volcanic ash could cause health problems.
It can be seen on the photos that the unnamed man brought several boxes of face masks with him to distribute to the people. The netizen praised the man for helping his fellowmen. The photo has garnered 61K reactions, 740 comments, and 65K shares as of this writing.
