Mayor Vico Sotto Slams People Who Spend Millions to Disparage Pasig New Administration
Pasig, Metro Manila- Mayor Vico Sotto slams people who spend million to defile and disparage the new administration of Pasig City.
Mayor Vico Sotto has confirmed that the allegations made to him by a social media troll regarding his spending on printing a calendar released to Pasigueños by 2020 were not true. The Mayor has responded to allegations that he has overpriced the calendars he has created.
A Facebook post has surfaced online that accuses Sotto of spending P36.7 million for the creation of such calendars. The 30-year-old mayor defended only P4.9 million for the project, along with other printed materials of their office.
Sotto also posted on his official Facebook page a picture proving the amount of money he has spent on the Pasig City Hall project. They were able to print 400,000 calendars, 315 reams of short and long bond papers, and 560 packs of calling cards for just P4.9 million.
Sotto also asserted that the City Hall’s approved budget for this project was generally P14.5 million but they found low price bidders, so Sotto’s office saved P9.7 million. He proudly said it is only proven that prices for such projects went through public bidding with their programs and does not go through corruption.
Sotto also said in his post that he was aware that the spread of the post was only a disgrace to his political opponents. He also knew that they were spending huge sums of money just to defile the ‘New Pasig.’ But Sotto leaves them to reduce their wealth.
“Sa mga gumagastos pa rin ng milyon-milyon para lang siraan ang bagong administrasyon ng Pasig… sige lang, para mabawasan naman ang yaman n’yo,” He said to his Facebook post.
The mayor added that he understands the “Bayarang trolls” as they only need work and money. However, he warned that spreading lies and counteracting the change in their city was not right.
“Sa mga bayad nilang trolls… naiintidihan ko kayo, baka kailangan niyo lang ng trabaho… pero sana mapag-isipan niyo nang mabuti: gusto niyo ba talagang maging instrumento ng kasinungalingang nakakasama sa ating lipunan?” he added.
