Wanted Former Politician Arrested On Wednesday In Quezon City
QUEZON CITY – A former town vice mayor in Lanao Del Sur who is wanted as a criminal was recently arrested in Quezon City on Wednesday.
A report from PhilStar states that the police officers from the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) arrested the ex-politician, identified as Jeremy Guiab, aged 49 in Barangay Loyola Heights at around 9:30 AM.
Brig. Gen Jonnel Estomo, AKG director said that Guiab was served a warrant of arrest for reckless imprudence which resulted in the damage to propery.
This was issued on May 7, 2019 by Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 42 Judge Marcelino Gonzales II, who also set bail at ₱20,000.
Based on the report, the operation came from a complaint from Guiab’s victim, who told the police that Guiab eluded arrest for eight months. A police source says that Guiab was able to go despite the arrest warrant.
The records show that he was a vice mayor of Wao from 1997 to 2000 and a councilor from 2010 to 2013. Guiab was now involved in the entertainment industry.
One of his friends, who happened to be actor John Lloyd Cruz, visited him at the AKG head office at Camp Crame on Wednesday night.
Guiab was previously arrested in September 2010 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport after 13 sticks of dried weed were found in his pants pocket. He admitted that he had been using it for 15 years to relieve the itch caused by psoriasis, a skin condition.
