BSP To Sell 10,000 Peso & 500 Peso Coins In Celebration of 70 Years Of Central Banking

BSP TO SELL 10,000 PESO COINS – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas will be releasing special P10,000 and P500 commemorative coins in celebration of their 70th anniversary of central banking.

The BSP had been issuing commemorative Philippine Peso coins since 1947. These coins were minted to honor specific people or recognize a significant event or place in the Philippine’s history.

This time, BSP would be celebrating 70 years of central banking and 25 years of service. But how much would these coins cost?

The P10,000 commemorative coin could be yours at a price of P127,500 per piece. Meanwhile, the P500 coin is priced at P3,500 per piece.

If you would like to get your hands on one of these coins, you can email [email protected] on or before January 15. They would be available on a “first main, first listed” basis.

In order to get any of these coins, you need to specify which going you would be getting and which BSP branch you want to pick it up from along with your contact details.

Afterward, a confirmation letter will be sent to the buyer. But, take note that neither of the coins is of legal tender.

According to BSP, most of the commemorative coins are minted from precious metals like gold and silver. This makes the coins “extraordinary and more expensive”.

Here we have the Liberation of the Philippines from the Japanese by General Douglas MacArthur.

This one commemorates the 100th Birthday of Jose Rizal which has the words “National Hero” engraved on it.
