WALANG PASOK – The Chief Justice of the Philippines has declared work suspension in Manila Courts on Thursday (January 9, 2020).

The City of Manila declared the cancellation of all works in the Supreme Cours throughout Metro Manila in observance of the most-anticipated Traslacion 2020 or known as the Feast of the Black Nazarene.

The works in the Philippine Judicial Academy and the Judicial and Bar Council, the Court of Appeals, the Regional Trial Courts and the Metropolitan Trial Court in the City of Manila will be suspended due to the possible heavy traffic.

The Memorandum Order No. 02-2020 also informed that the court employees who will report to work on January 9 shall be entitled to one (1) day compensatory time-off. The memorandum has been signed by Chief Justice of the Philippines Diosdado M. Peralta.

The work cancellation has been made to give court employees the opportunity to participate in the annual religious festival and also to avoid hassle due to the massive traffic congestion in the affected areas.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has also declared the suspension of classes and government works throughout Metro Manila to give way to the yearly Traslacion.
